The ceremony takes place in a charming little church in the village centre.

After the I Do's, there's pizza and booze.
Please do not come by car
There's no direct parking at either venue and we're travelling between venues by boat.

From Amsterdam: ~1.20 hours by car, alternatively ~1.30 hours by train to Meppel or Steenwijk, then a 10-minute taxi ride. From Düsseldorf: ~2.40 hours by car, alternatively ~3 hours by train via Zwolle to Meppel or Steenwijk, then a 10-minute taxi ride.
Parking
There's no direct parking at either venue, so we'd recommend arriving on foot or by taxi in the morning and heading home the same way in the evening. Driving anyway? Park on the side of the Kerkweg, close to the second venue. From there it's a 25-minute walk to the church, and when the night's over, you're just a 2-minute walk from the party back to your car.

Uber and local taxis serve the Giethoorn area, but keep in mind that most taxis come from larger nearby towns, so expect a slightly longer wait and higher fares than you might be used to.

Then we trade the church for the canals - we're heading to dinner by boat.

Accommodation
Giethoorn and the nearby towns of Steenwijk and Meppel have charming B&Bs, holiday cottages, and hotels. Staying in the village means you can walk everywhere. If you'd like recommendations or need help finding accomodation, just reach out to us - we're happy to point you in the right direction.

Phones & cameras
Phones down, eyes up during the ceremony. Our photographer will capture everything. Once we leave the church, snap away to your heart's content!
